Meeting Women in Science

Working with Royal Society of Edinburgh, we got to meet some of the incredible Women in Science in Scotland.

October 3, 2019

The Meeting Women in Science Exhibition was launched on Tuesday 16th April 2019 to celebrate some of the exceptional women within the Royal Society’s Fellowship.

This exhibition launch coincided with an event featuring current and former RSE presidents Professor Dame Anne Glover and Professor Dame Jocelyn Bell, and RSE Young Academy of Scotland member and recently elected RSE Fellow, Dr Silvia Paracchini, who all feature in the exhibition. The three women discuss their experiences as women in science.

We covered the launch event of the exhibition where we interviewed Dame Anne Glover and Dr Rebekah Widdowfield, filmed the panel discussion and captured some of the events running throughout the day.

Following on from this, we took to the road to meet some of the incredible women in science around Scotland including Professor Lesley Yellowlees, Professor Niamh NicDaeid and Professor Dame Anne Glover.

One of the most exciting places we got to visit was the Forensic Science Department at Dundee University, also known as the Leverhume Research Centre. We met with Professor Niamh Nic Daeid who gave us a tour of the facilities and we even got to try out some next level forensic Virtual Reality equipment.

This was a truly rewarding project for us to work on and we got to meet some incredible women. The Exhibition is now on display at the Edinburgh Airport.
